Register for a trial class

  • Trial classes on the day of the event are available for any student aged 5-10 who has never taken a class at Young Artists’ Place.

  • A one-hour trial class costs $29.87 + GST. Please be sure to pre-register online!

  • Parents are welcome to stay during the trial lesson! However, siblings cannot sit in unless registered, and can instead join our drop-in activities in the main room.

  • Yes! Refer a friend, and if you both register for our fall 2026 term at the event, you will each receive a $10 discount. To claim this discount, you must register in-person at our event.

  • Our classes for older children aged 10-16 generally focus on more specialized skills (such as Manga Art, Realistic Drawing, Drawing People, and Sewing). We welcome your children to come view our art, see our space, and meet the passionate and skilled instructors who work with our older students!

    We’ll also have drop-in activities for all ages, like sticker-making and an artist-themed photobooth.

  • In order to ensure all interested families are able to try out our classes, we ask that each child choose only one trial class. If you have more than one child, you can sign each person up for a different class.

  • The two classes are very similar.

    A full term of Mixed Media includes:

    • drawing & painting

    • an air dry clay project

    • the occasional crafty project, like collage or stamping

    A full term of Drawing & Painting includes:

    • drawing & painting

    • no clay or crafty projects

    For the purposes of the 1-hour trial class, there is no difference between Mixed Media and Drawing & Painting other than the subject being drawn.
